Eligibility of the Applicants

All those persons interested to expand their knowledge about Oceans, Climate change and Food security. Ability to read, write and speak English and/or Urdu along with access to internet via PC, laptop or phone an essential requirement. 

 (Selection will be subject to meeting selection criteria of diversity, suitability and availability of seats.)

وہ تمام افراد جو سمندروں، موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں اور غذائی تحفظ کے بارے میں اپنے علم کو بڑھانے میں دلچسپی رکھتے ہیں۔ 

The mission of the IOI is to ensure the sustainability of the oceans as the “source of life”, and to uphold and expand the principle of the common heritage of mankind as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The online IOI Ocean Academy Courses are offered under the oversight of the International Ocean Institute (IOI) and implemented by IOI Ocean Academy through its local chapter. The online IOI Ocean Academy Courses are offered online at no charge to registered participants.

Ocean awareness course is planned and prepared to deliver simplified knowledge into ocean, sea governance and climate change. The purpose of this course is to enhance awareness on challenges to environment particularly marine environment and its connection with climate change and global warming.

سمندر، سمندری حکمرانی اور موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے بارے میں آسان معلومات فراہم کرنے کے لیے آگاہی کورس کی منصوبہ بندی اور تیاری کی گئی ہے۔ اس کورس کا مقصد ماحولیات کو درپیش چیلنجز خصوصاً سمندری ماحول اور موسمیاتی تبدیلی اور گلوبل وارمنگ سے اس کے تعلق کے بارے میں آگاہی کو بڑھانا ہے۔

• Obtain a basic understanding of the Ocean, the goods and services it provides, the threats to the Ocean, how to live in a more sustainable way with the Ocean

• Understand the linkages between Ocean governance and sustainable and equitable human use, application of the principle of the common heritage of humankind, the needs of future generations

• Identify priority issues, trends and future challenges in Ocean issues, locally and globally

• Understand and describe Pakistan’s largest province and its sustainable use

• Understand and Describe Pakistan’s maritime zone, continental shelf, EEZ, Fisheries zone, Coastal areas, Marine Ecology, Conservation of Marine Eco system, Importance of Pakistan’s maritime zone and ocean resources in meeting food security
