Applications are NOW OPEN for IOI Canada’s next Ocean Governance Training; Online; 18th March - 23rd May 2024

Applications are now open for this free, interdisciplinary training programme offered by the IOI and exploring key aspects of ocean governance in the context of the challenges and opportunities facing the post-COP 28 world. Combining lectures, discussions, assignments, readings and videos, the online course will consist of four modules: Ocean Governance and Law of the Sea; Fisheries, Aquaculture and Food Security; State of the Ocean; Human Security and the Ocean.

 

Applicants can choose between live participation (with limited availability due to capped class size) and self-paced study. Both involve a time commitment of 30 hours of lectures, as well as required preparatory materials for each session and a short assignment for each module. The 20 live sessions all run for 90 minutes and are held twice a week from 18th March to 23rd May. Check out the detailed schedule via the link below.

 

This training is aimed primarily at marine professionals around the world with responsibility for some aspect of coastal and ocean management; English language proficiency is required to benefit from the programme. Those completing all the course requirements will be eligible for a certificate.
