This course is designed to empower Liberian youth, coastal residents, and local leaders with essential ocean literacy. The curriculum addresses critical local challenges such as coastal erosion in West Point and other coastal environs, mangrove degradation, and marine pollution while exploring practical opportunities within Liberia's Blue Economy and ocean governance frameworks.

  • Obtain a basic understanding of the Ocean, its goods and services, and the threats it faces;
  • Understand linkages between ocean governance and sustainable human use;
  • Identify priority ocean issues globally and within Liberia;
