Elisabeth Mann Borgese Ocean Lecture Series

The Elisabeth Mann Borgese Ocean Lecture Series commemorates and celebrates the life and work of the founder of the IOI and its interdisciplinary training programmes. This public lecture series was launched in 2005 to mark the 25th anniversary of the IOI Training Programme in Halifax, Canada. The objective is to further encourage the debate on oceans issues by inviting internationally renowned speakers to discuss important and timely ocean-related topics. This lecture series aims to generate awareness among stakeholders, academics, students and the general public about important ocean issues. IOI Canada organizes these annual lectures also as part of a series of events to mark World Ocean Day on the 8th of June each year.
