Successful delivery of two Training Workshops on Ocean Governance by IOI Egypt in September and October

IOI Egypt delivered two workshops on Ocean Governance for students, recent graduates, employees from governmental organisations, and university staff. The workshops were launched by Professor Ahmed Abdel Halim, Director of IOI Egypt’s Host Centre (the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries - NIOF Suez) and Dr Lamiaa Mohamedein, Director IOI Egypt. A total of sixteen lecturers from NIOF, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), and Suez University contributed to the programmes. 

 

Twenty participants attended the four-day workshop co-organised by IOI Egypt in the Suez branch of NIOF, while twenty-two participants attended the four-day training workshop co-offered by IOI Egypt in Hurgahda.

 

As well as lectures from expert faculty members, field trips included visits to locations of relevance to the thematics such as to the Red Sea Ports Authority in Suez, and the desalination plant and wastewater treatment facility in El Gouna in Hurghada. All participants received certificates of participation.
