The International Ocean Institute of Southern Africa and AfriSeas Solutions hosted a one-day participatory roundtable and role-play workshop on the 21st of January 2026

IOI Chile Centre ended the academic year 2025 with an open workshop and a masterclass by special guest Dr Maria Teresa Infante.

IOI was represented at the this Workshop by Adam Gauci, IOI Malta associate, and a long-standing expert faculty member of the IOI Ocean Governance Training Programmes offered in Malta and Turkmenistan.

IOI Egypt delivered two successful workshops on Ocean Governance to more than 40 participants in Suez and Hurghada.

Building on the success of the workshop series over the last two years, IOI Canada delivered another interdisciplinary 5-day workshop on Coastal and Ocean Governance for Indigenous Peoples.

Dr Andrej Abramic, IOI alumnus and MSP expert member of faculty at the IOI training courses, was nominated by the IOI to present and participate at a technical workshop in Beijing, at the invitation of the IOI training partner in China, the National Marine Data and Information Service.

Following last year’s successful pilot, IOI Canada recently delivered its second Workshop on Ocean Governance for Indigenous Peoples.
