Ocean literacy is the ability to understand the role of the ocean and find solutions for its protection and sustainable use. Learning ocean literacy in school is important because the ocean plays an important role in the life of our planet and is an integral part of our ecosystem. Without proper protection and sustainable use of the ocean, we risk deterioration of our quality of life and negative environmental consequences. During the course, we will look at various ocean-related topics that include the challenges and risks faced by the ocean, as well as explore methods for integrating ocean literacy into formal education. Course participants will gain knowledge and practical skills that are necessary to develop educational materials and programs, that will contribute to increasing the ocean literacy of students, to the development of critical thinking and ability to solve problems related to the ocean.

Океанська грамотність - це здатність розуміти роль океану у житті нашої планети та знаходити рішення для його збереження та сталого використання. Вивчення океанської грамотності у школі має важливе значення, оскільки океан відіграє важливу роль у житті нашої планети та є невід'ємною частиною нашої екосистеми. Без належного збереження та сталого використання океану, ми ризикуємо погіршенням якості нашого життя та виникненням негативних екологічних наслідків. Протягом курсу ми розглянемо різні теми, пов'язані з океаном, які включають виклики та ризики, з якими зіштовхнеться океан, а також вивчимо методи інтеграції океанської грамотності в формальну освіту. Учасники курсу отримають знання та практичні навички, які необхідні для розробки навчальних матеріалів та програм, що сприятимуть підвищенню океанської грамотності учнів, розвитку критичного мислення та уміння вирішувати проблеми, які пов'язані з океаном.
