IOI welcomes Dr Joana Dionisio as the new IOI Focal Point, operating from Lisbon, Portugal; Joana is an alumnus of the 2011 IOI Training Programme on Regional Ocean Governance for the Mediterranean, Black, Baltic and Caspian Seas, Malta. She has a degree in Law and has dedicated the last 15 years to the theme of the law of the sea and sustainability. Joana is also one of the early implementers of the IOI Ocean Academy programme with biannual offers of the IOI’s Ocean Literacy programme in Portugal since 2022, offered in Portuguese for the Lusophone countries of Europe and Africa.
